Career fairs

Typically 2 career fairs targeting OSU Engineering students are scheduled each year, both organized independently of Engineering Career Services (ECS):

• Engineering EXPO [new window], sponsored by Engineers Council [new window]; usually held in early October.
• Engineering Career Fair [new window], sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers [new window]; usually held in mid-February.

These career fairs are excellent promotional/marketing opportunities. Promoting your organization at career fairs lays the groundwork for a successful return visit to campus focused on targeted recruiting. If you plan to conduct on-campus recruiting at ECS subsequent to a career fair visit, we suggest the following:

• Promote your return visit
  Use career fairs to promote your return visit. Build name recognition and relay information about the opportunities for engineering and computer science students at your organization.
• Advise students of timeline
  Encourage students who visit your booth to register with ECS so they can schedule interviews for your return visit to campus. Refer to the ECS windows/timetable for on-campus interviews and note the sign-up dates associated with your scheduled interview date(s). Advise students of these dates so that they can pre-select and/or sign up for interviews.
