On-campus recruiting
Set-up an information session
Many employers host an information session or open house prior to their campus interviews at Engineering Career Services (ECS), typically the night before the interviews. While completely optional, such a recruiting event can be an efficient way to share company information with a group of candidates.
Before making your plans, please review a new perspective on company information sessions [PDF] (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader [new window] or another PDF viewer). Once you’ve scheduled your event, remember to enter the event details in the ECS online system to publicize it to students!

THESE FACILITIES WILL NOT ADVERTISE YOUR INFORMATION SESSION TO STUDENTS OR INFORM CAREER SERVICES OF THE EVENT.
NOTE: Some employers like to work with student organizations to set-up information sessions during lunch in a student lounge or at organization meetings. If this is of interest to you, review the list of engineering student organizations (includes contact information).
2. Publicize your event.
Once arrangements are complete, post the event information to your ECS account, to publicize it to students. If you plan to limit attendance to invited candidates only, please add the event information to the system and notify the ECS recruiting coordinator at ecs@osu.edu.
- Login to your Engineering Career Services account [new window]
- From the home page quick links, select "Request New Information Session."
- Enter detailed information into the system. Keep in mind that potential attendees will view this information, so include as many eye-catching points as possible. This is your chance to market your organization and the event, so include specific details that will make students want to attend and learn more about your organization! You have the option of allowing students to RSVP, but keep in mind that these numbers may not reflect the actual number in attendance.
- Continue to advertise the event by sending marketing e-mails to students who meet your qualifications. You can use the system to send messages to select groups of students.
If you have questions or would like additional tips on publicizing your event, please contact the ECS Recruiting Coordinator at 614-292-8694 or ecs@osu.edu.
