Prepare job information (for
preselect, open schedules)
Providing informative, marketing-oriented job information is key to your recruiting success,
as students likely decide whether to pursue an interview opportunity based on these job details.
Some tips for writing job information:
- Include concise information about the job responsibilities.
- Share some highlights about the job, to promote it and the company to potential candidates.
- Take advantage of your ECS recruiting account online profile by entering company information and job location(s).
- Mention housing/relocation assistance if you offer this benefit to co-op/intern candidates.
- Specify the type of job and the specific quarters that positions are available for co-op/intern schedules.
- Clarify your expectations on interview and workplace attire.
- If you require completed applications or transcripts prior to the interview, include instructions in the text of the job information.
Contact us at ecs@osu.edu or 614/292-6651 with any job/schedule questions. Co-op/intern employers may want to consult with Olga Stavridis, the Engineering Co-op & Internship Program Manager, at stavridis.2@osu.edu or 614/292-5830.
Review resumes, select candidates (for preselect schedules)
You can view applicants’ resumes during the student application window, but you cannot choose
candidates until the student window closes and your window opens. You can print resumes to review
them offline or save applicant data to an Excel spreadsheet to organize your decision process.
Important: All selections must be completed before your window closes! Specific date ranges for each window (student application start and end, employer selection start and end, etc.) are available online in your ECS recruiting account [new window]:
- Click on View OCR schedules in quick links (OCR = On-Campus Recruiting)
- Click on the schedule date link -- all of the schedule's OCR-related windows/dates are displayed on the right side of the Schedule Details section.
These windows/dates are also included in a schedule confirmation letter, and you can check them in the windows/timetable for on-campus recruiting.
Monitor
your schedule (for preselect, open schedules)
Refer to your schedule's specific sign-up windows/dates (see above) to follow student sign-up activity
online. During the sign-up window you can login to your ECS recruiting account and check progress:
- Click on View OCR schedules in quick links (OCR = On-Campus Recruiting)
- Click on the Interviews tab to view applicants who have scheduled an interview timeslot. Please note that only scheduled timeslots display here -- click on the Applicants tab to review a candidate's status (Invited, Alternate, etc.).
To see an overall view of your schedule (all timeslots, whether scheduled or empty), click the checkbox to the left of the schedule date and then click Generate Interview Packet (the box next to Batch Options). This will create a PDF file of your interview schedule at this point in time; you will have the option of including the scheduled candidates' resumes in the file, too. While we encourage you to monitor your schedule's progress, please be aware that this information is subject to change!
If you have scheduled an information session you can monitor the RSVPs in your ECS recruiting account.
Avoid last-minute schedule changes
If you need to modify your interview schedule to accommodate travel or meeting plans,
please contact us at ecs@osu.edu
or 614/292-6651 at least four weeks prior to the interview date so changes can be
made, preferably before students have begun to schedule.
