Resume access
Employers registered with Engineering Career Services (ECS) may receive resumes or resume access at no charge.
We do not refer resumes to third-party employers, including but not limited to, employment agencies, search firms, and placement services. Read the ECS third-party policy [PDF] (this document requires Adobe Reader [new window] or another PDF viewer).
Legal notes for employers
Please note that the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) restricts employer use of student resumes. Organizations receiving such information may use it only for the purpose of evaluating candidates for employment within their own organization. Thus, employers may not transmit (or re-disclose) student information to any other employer or third party, nor to others within the employing organization for something other than employment purposes. If an organization improperly re-discloses student records, Federal law prohibits that party from obtaining student records for a period of at least five years.

Contacting candidates after accessing resumes
You may contact candidates directly to inform them of your specific job opportunity and arrange for further screening or interviewing. Typically, employers narrow the pool of candidates and invite finalists to interview at their location. Alternatively, you may choose to schedule a campus visit to interview multiple candidates at our facility. To schedule an interview date contact us at ecs@osu.edu or 614/292-6651; registered employers may make their schedule request online through their ECS recruiting account [new window].
