- Pre-selected: employers review
resumes 1st
- First, you can apply if your account is unblocked and you match the
employer’s criteria. Submit your resume for consideration via “jobs”
section of ECS Job Board
- Next, when the scheduling window opens, check status in “interviews”
section (invited or alternate) and sign up for an interview time
CAUTION: Don’t wait until the final deadline!
- Invited candidates have 1—2 days priority scheduling,
- then alternates can schedule.
FCFS!
- Open: Anyone who matches the employer’s criteria can schedule interview
times. Caution: FCFS!

- You can apply for a “qualifications override”
- Apply early in the application window (3 days notice minimum)
- Reasons for overrides:
- overall GPA is under employer’s
stated minimum, but major GPA exceeds the minimum;
- both major and overall GPA are
under the minimum but very close (ie, 2.98 for a 3.0 minimum);
- GPA is under the minimum, but
the student has strong relevant experience;
- student’s major or degree level is not listed, but should be (RH will
verify/investigate—this is not an instantaneous process);
- University error: for example,
the student’s degree level or other key field was not yet entered by the student’s advisor,
effectively blocking him or her from all interviews.
- Overrides are never approved for work authorization discrepancies.
- Overrides are NOT automatic – some employers object

- You probably won’t get a job from the fair—but you will make useful
contacts, learn a little about a lot of employers, and possibly get
invited to interview later!
