Resume referrals
Throughout the year, many employers request resumes from Engineering Career Services, seeking to fill a job vacancy. In response, Engineering Career Services sends resumes of all registered students (with active accounts) who meet the companies' requirements. The employers may contact students directly or through Engineering Career Services. These selected candidates are not obligated to interview since they did not initiate the contact. Interviews resulting from these referrals are typically conducted either at the Engineering Career Services facilities or at the employer's workplace.
Engineering Career Services sends an email notification to referred students. Though there is little direct action to be taken on the part of the student, he/she should prepare to hear from the employer by researching the company and making sure voicemail greetings are professional. If a roommate or family member may be answering the telephone, they should be alerted that potential employers may be calling.
